Arrived in June 1819 per "Hibernia"; assistant to Reverend Cowper; he was Secretary of the Benevolent Society, founder of the NSW Society for promoting Christian knowledge among the Aborigines, a director of the Natives Institution, a trustee of the Male and Female Orphan Institutions and the Church and School Lands Corporation; he held land at Darlinghurst and in the Counties of Hunter and Northumberland.
