Arrived free in 1788; appointed Storekeeper at Parramatta in February 1789, Storekeeper and Acting Deputy Commissary at Norfolk Island in December 1800 (to 1805), and Deputy Commissary, New South Wales in November 1805; was Acting Commissary General from November 1809 until Macquarie restored John Palmer to the post; re-appointed Acting Commissary in March 1810; made Deputy Assistant Commissary-General in June 1813 under David Allan and Acting Assistant Commissary General from 1814; relieved as Acting Assistant Commissary General at Hobart from July 1816 until March 1818. He had been appointed a magistrate in 1809, was a Director of the Bank of New South Wales and a landholder at Appin. | |
