DOUGLASS, Henry Grattan. Surgeon and Magistrate

Arrived with his family in May 1821 and was placed in charge of the Parramatta Hospital and appointed Superintendent of the Female Factory; he was also a magistrate at Parramatta until 1825 and Commissioner, Court of Requests from Feb 1824; he was involved with the Agricultural Society, Benevolent Society and Philosophical Society; he went to England in 1824 and returned to the Colony in the following year.
