Transported for life for his part in the Irish rebellion of 1798. Fulton was conditionally pardoned November 1800 and became assistant Chaplain to the Hawkesbury; in 1801 assistant Chaplain Norfolk Island; gaining an absolute pardon 1805 he returned to the mainland in 1806, and became a Crown Chaplain, standing in for Marsden; he became resident chaplain at Castlereagh and Richmond in 1814, and served on the bench there. He also ran a seminary at Castlereagh House. | |
