GEILS, Andrew (Lieutenant Colonel). Commandant at Hobart
Arrived 1811 in charge of the guard per "Providence"; was appointed Commandant at Hobart in 1812, but was refused further promotion because of excessive misuse of Government men and supplies; in 1814 Geils accompanied his regiment, the 73rd, to Ceylon and never returned to the Colony.
