Commandant of New South Wales Corps, 1789-94; arrived per "Pitt" in February 1792; Lieutenant Governor of New South Wales, February 1792 to December 1794; administered the colony, 11 December 1792 to 12 December 1794; left colony on leave on 15 December 1794; remained Colonel of New South Wales Corps (the 102nd Regiment from 1809) to his death in 1814.
